Shailyn’s Baby Blanket, Finished!

It took me two months, but I finally finished this baby blanket for my niece. I am hoping to give it to her this weekend. Hopefully my sister likes it.

This pattern was free. Click on this image to go to my Ravelry project page for the link!

I am really happy with how this turned out. I only made a couple of mistakes and thankfully they are not noticeable. I’m so glad that it’s done because I’ve been wanting to work on something else but didn’t allow myself to. If I started a new project, I never would have finished this.

The cabled cowl/Irish Hiking Scarf I started before this is waiting to be finished, but I cast on a pair of fingerless gloves instead. Oops!

Baby Blanket Progress Update

I have made more progress on the baby blanket for my sister. Last night I started the next color stripe; teal!

I am still really enjoying this pattern. Simple but looks really pretty. It’s a bit harder to see the ripples in the above picture, but they are there.  So far I have only made one mistake and hopefully I will not make anymore.  If you would like to follow my project on Ravelry, click the picture and it will take you to the page.

Thanks for looking!

Baby blanket

I just spent most of the afternoon making a blanket for a co-workers new born baby. When I picked out the fabric, they did not know what the gender was going to be, but the baby was born today and it’s a girl. This was my first time making a blanket and so also my first time using blanket binding. It is not perfect, but I worked very hard on this and hope that she and the baby like it!

There is bad lighting in my room. The yellow is a soft yellow and the green is a soft mint green, really pretty. The color of the bears face is the same fleece I used for the back. There are cute bears, cats and clowns on the fabric.
